Bon Appetit

So I finally decided to head out of the UK and I went to Paris this past weekend to be reunited with tons of friends from U of I! I left on Thursday and got on Thursday night and stayed until Monday. It was such an amazing weekend! I saw everything from the Eiffel Tower to The Louvre and got to do it with some of my best friends!
As many of you may know, I went to Europe this past summer and saw lots of the main attractions in Paris, but this time I got to see a lot of things that I didn't get to see last time like Moulin Rouge and Montmartre, and I realized how HUGE Paris is. Everyday that I walked around I realized what an amazing city it is and how beautiful each and every street is. I felt like I could take pictures of everything I saw, because each building is so pretty and unique.
I also got to visit Versailles while I was there, which is a smaller city about 30 minutes outside Paris where some of my friends have been studying architecture the entire year. This city was also unbelievably beautiful. It reminded me of a smaller, less crowded version of Paris.
Although I absolutely loved being in Paris, it made me miss the small and quaint Nottingham. It made me appreciate being in a place where I am familiar and I realized all the perks of being in a smaller town, that also speaks english! Being in France where people spoke french was fun, but it has been an amazing experience getting to know locals in Nottingham and that wouldn't be as easy if I was not in England where everyone speaks english. So all in all, very successful weekend. I was glad to travel outside England, but also glad to be back! Next stop... LONDON!
